by Shriram Iyengar
He opens his eye to see nothing; No blue sky, no yellow sun. His days are black And nights long. The world melts away In white blank eyes Into a sea of darkness filled with sounds. Faceless sounds Of unknown origin, resonating in that empty void. Till sound becomes sight; morphing tones into words Words into meanings That swirl around In the vacant mist of the emptiness Echoing with absolute silence And the music of rainbows.
